Careful: Poisonous!

You should better not give this to your dog to eat

Dogs should be fed species-appropriate. But be careful! What tastes good to us can be life-threatening for your dog! The food that we humans consume is usually unsuitable for dogs. They must not eat spicy food, raw pork, raw shade crops, such as tomatoes or potatoes. It is best to choose a high-quality dog food (wet or dry) in a specialized store, which is exactly tailored to the animal’s needs. When buying food you can choose between dog food for small and large animals, but also between pet food for puppies, adult and old dogs. Not every dog likes to eat what other dogs like.

The danger of birch sugar

Hidden birch sugar is particularly dangerous and can lead to fatal hypoglycemia in dogs. Since birch sugar contains considerably fewer calories than household sugar, calorie-conscious housewives like to use it for baking cakes and other pastries. Snacking on such delicacies can be fatal not only for dogs but also for cats. Please also watch out for candies made from birch sugar. Many people are unaware of the deadly danger to dogs and offer their candies to dogs as treats.

If you suspect poisoning due to vomiting, diarrhea, increased salivation, fever, apathy, foaming at the mouth, dilated pupils, convulsions, shortness of breath, restlessness, or other symptoms, you should contact your veterinarian directly.
